Honey Bakery & Cafe, nestled at 2064 Curtner Ave in San Jose, CA, is an authentic gem for lovers of Persian-inspired bakery delights. Specializing in traditional breads and unique pastries, this bakery offers customers an inviting glimpse into the rich culinary heritage of Iran, all while delivering fresh, quality products day after day.
At the heart of Honey Bakery & Cafe’s charm is their mastery of artisanal breads like Sangak, Barbari, and the aromatic Rollet—each crafted with precision and baked fresh every day. Customers rave about the Sangak and Barbari breads for their distinctive textures: the crisp, wood-fired Sangak with its signature pebble-dimpled crust, and the golden, airy Barbari boasting a perfect pull-apart softness. However, a gentle reminder from patrons suggests glancing at the bread before purchase to ensure every loaf meets your expectations, as slight inconsistencies can occur given the handmade nature of these creations.
Beyond their breads, the bakery’s selection dazzles with an array of Persian sweets and pastries that dance on the palate. The delicate, honey-soaked Baklava enchants with its buttery layers and nutty crunch, while the Jalebi offers a crispy, syrupy sweetness that’s both exotic and comforting. The Persian Omelet adds a savory balance, and the Kubideh Barg Combo provides a heartier meal option celebrating classic flavors. Not to miss is the 까망크런치, a unique offering that showcases the bakery’s fusion of tradition and innovation.
Patrons don’t just come for the food; they come for the experience. Numerous visitors have highlighted the warm hospitality exuded by Sam, the bakery’s passionate owner, whose friendliness makes every guest feel like family. This genuine warmth permeates the cozy ambiance of the cafe, giving it a feeling not unlike stepping into a welcoming Persian home. The scent of freshly baked bread mingles with the rich aromas of brewed coffee, creating an irresistible sensory invitation to linger and savor.
One repeated admiration from longtime customers is the quality of the homemade pastries, especially the renowned cream puffs, praised as some of the best in town. Regulars often leave carrying multiple loaves of bread, a testament to the bakery’s dedicated following and the undeniable allure of their products. Though some mention the prices as slightly higher than average, most agree that the craftsmanship, freshness, and unique cultural experience more than justify the investment.
Whether you’re seeking the perfect artisanal loaf, a sweet taste of Persian tradition, or simply a welcoming spot to enjoy a cup of coffee, Honey Bakery & Cafe stands out as a must-visit destination in San Jose. It’s a place where every bite tells a story, and every visit feels like a warm embrace.

This bakery offers fresh Sangak and Barbary bread seven days a week, which is a great convenience. However, it’s always a good idea to check the bread before paying, as sometimes it can be undercooked or slightly burnt in certain areas. They also sell a variety of pastries, including Baklava and traditional Iranian cookies. While the quality is decent, the prices are a bit on the higher side compared to other places. The staff, particularly Andria and Sa’eed, are always polite and friendly, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. Just be mindful of the bread quality when you visit!

AMAZING cafe!!!! It is owned by an incredibly nice Persian guy named Sam!!! The pastries are homemade!!! It is very popular! Thanks Sam for sharing your culture with us. We felt your genuine hospitality and felt like we visited another country. The cream puffs were the best I have ever tasted. Many people were buying 5 loads of bread each. They would smell the bread as they got into their cars. It was so good. Super yummy Persian tea too!
This place is a hidden gem. Best bread in town and very unique pastries with distinctive Persian flavours. They serve coffee too.
